A man from Australia who jumped over a barricade and reached for actress Ariana Grande has been deported and barred from Singapore.

The man, aged 26, was sentenced to nine days in prison for being a public nuisance and has now been "banned from entering the country again," Singaporean immigration authorities stated to local media.

The man shoved through camera crews and rushed toward the performer and artist, who was attending the Asian premier for the film on 13 November. Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo wrestled him away from Grande.

He has a background of causing disturbances at events and star-studded occasions, including leaping onto the platform at Katy Perry's Sydney concert in June this year.

The event sparked outrage in Singapore, with many accusing him of re-traumatising Grande.

The pop star has mentioned dealing with trauma-related anxiety after a explosive incident at her performance in the English city in spring of 2017 resulted in the deaths of 22 individuals and injured hundreds.

In the legal process, the judge was informed he had made efforts to breach on the red carpet event multiple times, according to regional reports.

He then made a second attempt to cross the barriers. Event security intercepted him and held him in place.

Wen later posted videos expressing gratitude to the star for permitting his access and said he was "released."

Law enforcement took him into custody the next day and accused him with disorderly conduct, to which he confessed.

The District Judge the judicial official was referenced by Channel News Asia as saying that he was looking for publicity, adding that he was wrong to assume he would not face any penalties.

Grande has not addressed the incident.

Erivo discussed the situation to a media outlet, stating that she "only aimed to ensure my colleague was secure."

"I believe he didn't mean us danger, but you cannot be certain with those things, and I aimed to ensure that she was fine. That was my initial reaction," she stated.
