Ex- Doctor Charged with Assault Charges Involving 38 Patients
Prosecutors report that a ex- physician has been charged with committing assaults against 38 victims who were patients.
Details of the Grave Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of acts of sexual assault – some of which involve some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A senior prosecutor said, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
The charges follow what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

Prosecutors outline the 45 charges include:
- 15 counts of assault.
